You’ve got the data. But how do you actually use it when it arrives from different sources, at different times, and in different formats? This article will walk you through the BI platform we built for The LEGO Group. A solution that saves hundreds of thousands of Czech crowns every single month, and could inspire you in your marketing efforts.
When data sabotages growth: A common pain for marketing teams
The LEGO team faced a challenge familiar to many: partners were sending marketing data each in their own distinctive manner, using various formats, tools, and reporting habits. One would send a GA4 export, another a login to Universal Analytics. When it came time to report, analysts faced hours of manual work and still couldn’t guarantee accuracy or consistency.
That’s a dangerous place to be. Business strategies built on insufficient data can cost companies millions. And when you can’t compare results, your reports lose sense.
So LEGO faced a challenge many companies fear to answer: How do we turn inconsistent data flows into a trustworthy foundation for strategy, and how do we automate the process without a huge analytics team or external agency?
Automation that works—even without an IT department
We designed and developed a BI platform that streamlines the entire process. Partners no longer have to manage access or configure exports. They set it up —the system handles the rest.
The platform collects, cleanses, and analyzes Universal Analytics and GA4 inputs. Encryption ensures absolute security, and role-based permissions guarantee that users see only what they’re supposed to. Most importantly, marketers don’t need technical skills. In fact, they don’t need to do anything. The process runs automatically, accurately, and on time.
A system built to handle 50+ data sources
We knew the system had to be built on solid foundations from the beginning. We developed algorithms for secure data transfers and automated transformation into a unified format. We also added validation tools that flag issues early, before they can cause harm.
We tested every step at both small and large scales. This resulted in a system that handles dozens of partners, different data structures, and complex flows while remaining transparent, reliable, and scalable.
Results that count—and inspire
Thanks to the new platform, The LEGO Group no longer has to process data manually or rely on an external agency. That alone saves the time of one full-time position—and around CZK 300,000 in monthly costs.
Because the platform now processes data from over 50 e-shops and marketplaces worldwide, total savings across all partners reach approximately CZK 1.9 million monthly. Beyond the savings, the platform brings accuracy, transparency, and a stronger sense of trust, making it a solution that really delivers.
A takeaway for you
Are you struggling with data chaos? Are you tired of inconsistent reports or manual processing? This case demonstrates there’s a better way. Data automation isn’t just for the giants—if designed well, it’s simple, secure, and scalable, even for smaller teams.
The BI platform we built for LEGO was custom, but its core principles—automation, standardization, security, and clarity—can be adapted to fit any business. You just need to know what you’re trying to fix.
